Dartfish Video Coach Trainings Scheduled in April, June

The Dartfish USA Northeast Training Center at the State University of New York College at Cortland has announced two Dartfish Video Coach Training session dates. The trainings will be held Saturday, April 25 and Saturday, June 20 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Each event will be held in the Sport Media & Technology Learning Center in the Studio West Building in Room 128 on campus.

The Dartfish Video Coach training course is a first level course designed to educate on the basics of digital video analysis and Dartfish software and hardware. Students and professionals will attend eight hours of training and will be able to demonstrate an introductory understanding of the software and hardware processes used to shoot, capture, analyze and distribute digital video using Dartfish. The application of Dartfish to all sports and academic disciplines will be profiled. Current Dartfish users will learn how to more efficiently utilize Dartfish in their organizations.

The following topics will be covered: Introduction to Digital Video Analysis & Dartfish, Equipment Requirements & Setup, the Player and Library Modules, Digital Video Input and Output, the In-the-Action Module, the Analyzer Module, Media Books, the StroMotion Module, the SimulCam Module, the Tagging Module and Dartfish TV.

Participants will also have access to SUNY Cortland’s student technology core for support for six months after training.

Previous experience with digital video filming and analysis is helpful but not required.

The Dartfish Video Coach Certification exam is available for students to take once the course is completed. Certification exams are also given at the end of each semester in the Sport Media & Technology Learning Center on campus. The cost is $75 per attempt.

The cost of each training session is $395 per person for professionals and $295 for full-time students. A 10 percent discount will be given to organizations who sign up five or more for a training session. If you are interested in signing up for either training date, contact Daniel DePerno at depernod@cortland.edu.
